Prayer for the End of the Death Penalty

The State of Florida has scheduled an execution for Tuesday, August 19 at 6:00 PM. On that morning Tuesday, August 19 at 9:45 AM (after Mass), we will gather in prayer — for all those affected by violence, including the victims, their families, the individual facing execution, and for an end to the death penalty.

Each life is sacred, and as people of faith, we are called to uphold the dignity of every human life — even in the face of great harm. Let us come together to pray for healing, justice rooted in mercy, and for the conversion of hearts in our state and beyond.

The growing number of executions in Florida is a sobering reality. Our prayers offer spiritual support to those on death row, to families grieving losses, and to a society in need of compassion and reflection.
