The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is the Liturgy of the Word of the Mass, adapted for children. Children hear the same Scriptures adult hear each Sunday but proclaimed in language they can understand and are invited to respond through prayer and engaging reflection. It is worship—not a class—and helps children participate more fully in the Mass with the entire parish.
Liturgy of the Word for Children is designed for children grades 1 - 4. No registration is necessary. Parents are always welcome to come with their children. Please note this does not take the place of Children's Faith Formation classes.
We serve our parishioners and their children through the Children's Liturgy on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of the month (unless there is a holiday) at the 10:15 AM Mass.
During Liturgy of the Word for Children, the children are invited to leave the assembly and go to the Chapel where a simplified version of the Sunday readings are read, along with discussion to help the children understand the theme of the readings. The children are returned to the assembly in church after the Presentation of the Gifts.
